Then it's "Sredni Vashtar" by Saki and read by Tom Baker in which a troubled boy's prayers are answered in a disturbing way. And we end with "On the Brighton Road" by Richard Middleton in which a weary traveler finds more than he bargained for.

And finally "A Voice in the Dark" is a chilling tale inspired by Lovecraft and will leave you afraid of the water for a long, long time.

This episode is a little different in that the stories are more weird than horrific. Some of the best writers of strange fiction are collected here in these tales of the odd. Included here we have "Open Season on the Bottoms" in which a certain type of person is vanishing from the earth. Then it's "Tiger Superstition" in which we learn of the strange beliefs about the beast. In "After an Air Raid" we meet a couple during WWII who decide not to worry. Next is "Escape" in which a person who seems completely insane may have more going on than we know. And finally "Dracula's Return" blends the classic tale with a modern update that ends well for no one!
